The trip starts from our dock from where you paddle out into the lush and idyllic Pålundskanalen. You paddle by Långholmens båtklubb and further past the yachts at Göta Segelsällskap.
When you have passed Långholmens western tip it’s time to cross the Riddarfjärden and its sea lane. Ensure that no motor boats are about to pass in the sea lane before you, at a brisk pace, cross the sea lane at the shortest possible crossing. You then paddle under the bridge between Lilla Essingen and Kungsholmen, after which you paddle past the beautiful Fredhäll cliffs on your right.
The tour continues below Tranebergsbron and along Hornsbergs beach. Here the wind can be a bit challenging. After taking you past this part, you slide into Karlberskanalen, and the water is much calmer and sometimes you get the feeling that the paddle trip goes through exotic swamps.
At the end of Karlbergskanalen you will pass very close to Stockholm's City Hall, which is a cool experience. By this time, anyone who wants to take on an exciting adventure could at this point to take an extra-turn toward the Centralbron and get a glance of the “Riksdagshuset” (Parliament building).
The last part of this route can be a bit messy depending on the weather. Here it is good if you stay close to shore, either along Norrmälarstrand or along Södermälarstrand. The last bit towards Långholmen and by Pålundskanalen is very beautiful and soothing.
