Versatile and easy-to-paddle beginner kayak
The Viggen is best suited to calmer waters but also works in windy conditions (in which case a spray skirt is recommended). The Viggen's versatility is one of the reasons for its popularity. For beginners, the Viggen is a great choice – it is stable, easy to paddle and at the same time offers plenty of room to develop.
The kayak's relatively short length gives you a good response to your strokes, which is especially important when paddling in streams, rivers and smaller waterways.
Viggen beginner kayak
A durable kayak for the whole family
The adjustable footrests, which are used to steer the rudder at the stern, allow the kayak to be adapted to paddlers between 150-190 cm. This means many in the family can use the kayak.
The kayak is made of HDPE polyethylene plastic, a very tough and hard-wearing material. This means you can pull the kayak up onto rocks or a jetty without worrying about cracks and damage.
Large, comfortable cockpit
A comfortable kayak is important – getting out on the water should be easy and comfortable! The Viggen has a large and comfortable cockpit. Your legs can move relatively freely, allowing relaxed paddling, and the soft seat keeps you comfortable even on longer trips. The backrest is easy to adjust for a comfortable fit.

Storage compartments
The kayak has two storage compartments, one at the front and one at the back, with room for supplies and other gear for your trip. Smaller items are kept within easy reach in the mesh pocket in front of the cockpit. Waterproof bulkheads between the hatches and the cockpit keep the Viggen afloat even if the cockpit fills with water.
Easy to carry
At the stern and bow there are handles for carrying the kayak. If you want to carry the kayak on your own, it is easy to carry it by gripping the cockpit.
3-layer or 1-layer plastic?
Unfortunately, there are players on the Swedish kayak market who mislead consumers about the quality of plastic kayaks. Whether a kayak is made of 1 layer or 3 does not have to affect its quality, performance or durability. The plastic can be equally thick regardless of the number of layers, and different constructions suit different models and hull shapes.
1-layer plastic is more pliable/flexible and therefore better at absorbing knocks and bumps. It works well on short plastic kayaks.
3-layer plastic is stiffer and less pliable, but is often a better choice for a kayak longer than 5 m, where increased torsional rigidity is needed.
The price of a kayak is never determined by the number of plastic layers, but rather by the quality of the plastic and the kayak's details. If you have questions about plastic types, feel free to ask us. We have 10 years in the industry and over the years have sold many kayaks in both types of plastic.
