5 reasons to choose the small trolley

1. Folds up and packs into the kayak – no need to leave it on the beach
2. The wheels come off, so the trolley also fits in kayaks with smaller hatches
3. Puncture-free 21 cm wheels – no pump and no punctures on the way
4. Weighs 2.5 kg and can be carried in one hand
5. Strap included – you need nothing more to get started

Suitable for

The trolley fits most kayak models, including double kayaks and K2. If you have a wide fishing kayak, a double kayak or a Canadian canoe, the large model will be more stable, as its support surface is wider.

How to use it

Place the trolley next to the kayak with the support leg pointing in the direction you will walk. Lift the kayak into place just behind the middle of the trolley. Pull the strap around the legs the wheels are mounted on, over the kayak and through the buckle, and tighten it properly. That is the whole point of tightening hard: a loose strap means the trolley can fold up during transport. Then lift the kayak's front handle and walk.

Small or large trolley?

The small one measures 550 × 370 × 270 mm and weighs 2.5 kg. The large one measures 660 × 435 × 400 mm and weighs 3.6 kg. Choose the small one when you want to bring the trolley with you in the kayak. Choose the large one when the kayak is wide or heavy, or when there are two of you paddling.

Should I choose the small or the large trolley?

The small one measures 550 × 370 × 270 mm, weighs 2.5 kg and has removable 21 cm wheels. Choose it when you want to fold up the trolley and take it with you in the hatch during your trip. The large one measures 660 × 435 × 400 mm, weighs 3.6 kg and has 25 cm wheels. Choose it when the kayak is wide or heavy, or when there are two of you paddling.

Is anything else included, and do I need anything more?

The kayak trolley and one strap are included, and that is all you need to move your kayak on land. If you also need to get the kayak onto the car roof, roof bars and a kayak loader are the right complement.

The trolley folds up when I load the kayak – what am I doing wrong?

It is almost always the strap. The strap should go around the legs the wheels are mounted on, not just over the kayak, and it must be tightened properly. If the strap is loose, the trolley can fold up during transport. We have a short guide on our blog called How to use a kayak trolley, showing step by step how the strap should sit.

The trolley wants to roll away on sloping ground

Load the kayak on level ground, and hold the kayak's front handle all the way. On uneven ground it goes slower – watch out for holes, stones and roots.
