Havspaddeln Oden Manual
This is the complete manual for Havspaddeln Oden, our inflatable SUP. It covers both Oden 10'8" and Oden 12'6". It shows you how to inflate the board to the right pressure, fit the fin and leash, and how to deflate, look after and repair it. If you want to print the manual, the PDF is at the bottom of the page.

Before your first trip
- Inflate the board on a surface free of sharp objects.
- Has the board been stored in the cold? Let it adjust to room temperature before unrolling it. This reduces the risk of damage to the material.
Inflating the SUP
- Check that the valve is closed. When the pin in the centre of the valve is up, the valve is closed.
- Attach the pump hose to the side of the pump marked IN and screw the other end onto the SUP valve.
- Inflate to 12–15 PSI with the included high-pressure pump.
- Remove the pump and screw the cap back onto the valve.
Tip: The pump's pressure gauge only shows a reading once the board starts getting hard – keep pumping until you reach the right pressure. When pumping gets heavy, you can unscrew the pump's own valve on the side so the pump only gives air when you push the handle down.
Fitting the fin
- Inflate the board first.
- Slide the fin into the plastic slot on the underside of the board.
- Secure the fin by inserting the pin through the opening.
Deflating the SUP
- Remove the valve cap and gently press the pin down so the air starts escaping.
- After a few seconds, you can press the pin down so it stays in the down position and the rest of the air escapes.
- To deflate faster, attach the pump hose to the side of the pump marked OUT and pump the air out.
- Roll or fold the board carefully and pack it in the backpack.
To close the valve again, turn the pin back to the left.
Care and storage
- Rinse the board thoroughly after every use, especially after salt water.
- Let it dry completely before putting it in the bag.
- Store it dry and protected from large temperature changes – either deflated and rolled up or slightly inflated.
- Keep the board away from sharp objects and chemicals.
Tips on the water
- Always wear an approved life jacket.
- Wind and currents: Do not go out in offshore wind or when strong currents could carry you further out than intended.
- Know the area: Be aware of currents, tides and boat traffic.
- Right number of users: Do not exceed the recommended number of people or the maximum weight.
- Footleash: Attach one end around your ankle and the other to the board, so the SUP stays close if you fall in.
- Paddle: The upper part is adjustable to your height. If the lock does not hold, it can be tightened.
- Follow the applicable rules of the water.
Repairing a puncture
Small punctures can be fixed with the included repair kit.
- Find the damage: Inflate the board to about 10 PSI and press parts of it under water. Air bubbles show where the hole is.
- Prepare the surface: Let out some air but keep the board's shape. Wash around the damage with soap and water and let it dry completely. Then lightly roughen the surface with sandpaper.
- Cut a patch: Cut a PVC patch from the kit with about 2 cm margin around the damage.
- Apply glue: Apply an even layer of glue to both the patch and the surface. Let it dry for 5–10 minutes until tacky.
- Attach the patch: Press the patch firmly in place and push out any air bubbles.
- Let it cure: Wait at least 24 hours before using the board, ideally in a warm, dry place.
Then inflate the board and listen for leaks.
Air leaking at the valve?
Use the plastic tool in the repair kit to tighten the valve. Do not tighten at maximum pressure – first let the air out to 8–10 PSI. If you need more material, we sell a repair kit for inflatable SUPs.
Warranty
Långholmen Kajak gives a one-year warranty on new SUPs for defects in materials and welds. The warranty applies to the original buyer and to faults that have arisen during normal recreational use. Damage from incorrect use, such as punctures and cuts, is not covered.
