Skeg and rudder
The Sarek's hull shape makes the kayak stable and agile, and with a width of 55 cm this sea kayak is a pleasure to paddle, even for more experienced paddlers. A very comfortable seat keeps you comfortable during your trip, and the easily adjustable foot pedals make it simple to change your seating position whenever you like. The kayak is equipped with both a skeg and a rudder. The rudder is raised and lowered using the rudder line on the right side of the kayak, where you will also find the skeg control.

Good storage options
The kayak has plenty of storage both in the hatches and on deck: two larger hatches, one at the front and one at the back, plus a day hatch just behind the cockpit. On deck you will also find a compass recess, safety lines and deck bungees for storage.

Inside the cockpit, you can comfortably brace your thighs against the padded thigh braces for good contact with the kayak.

There are carry handles at the bow and stern of the kayak.

3-layer or 1-layer plastic?
Unfortunately, there are players on the Swedish kayak market who mislead consumers about the quality of plastic kayaks. Whether a kayak is made of 1 layer or 3 does not have to affect its quality, performance or durability. The plastic can be equally thick regardless of the number of layers, and different constructions suit different models and hull shapes.

1-layer plastic is more pliable/flexible and therefore better at absorbing knocks and bumps. It works well on short plastic kayaks.
3-layer plastic is stiffer and less pliable, but is often a better choice for a kayak longer than 5 m, where increased torsional rigidity is needed.

The price of a kayak is never determined by the number of plastic layers, but rather by the quality of the plastic and the kayak's details. If you have questions about plastic types, feel free to ask us. We have 10 years in the industry and over the years have sold many kayaks in both types of plastic.
