Do I need to bring a kayak pump on my paddling trip?
Fortunately, the kayak pump is not needed very often, but from a safety point of view it is a good accessory to bring along. Paddling a kayak full of water is very difficult, as it is hard to keep your balance when the water sloshes around inside. It is also hard to empty the kayak on your own out on open water. So whether water has got into the cockpit from waves or you have capsized, the pump is a valuable safety accessory to keep close at hand.

Easy to use and effective
When you want to empty the kayak, place the pump between your knees at the bottom of the cockpit. With one hand on the pump shaft and the other on the ergonomic handle, all the water can be pumped out quickly.

When not in use, the pump is secured on top of the kayak or in the cockpit. The kayak pump (also called a bilge pump) is made of plastic and has a flotation collar.
